Introduction: A Church Born of Vision, Rooted in the Spirit

  • The Judea Zion Christian Church (the Church) is a vibrant African Indigenous Christian denomination headquartered in Zimbabwe, with a legacy of faith, resilience, and community transformation spanning more than a century.

Founded in 1923

  • Founded in 1923 by Reverend Saul Maguta “Chikamba” Mawewe, following a divine encounter in South Africa, the church has grown into a powerful spiritual movement serving tens of thousands across Southern Africa and beyond. From its inception, the Church has blended the foundational tenets of Christianity with African cultural expressions, reflecting the realities and rhythms of African spiritual life.

Our Leadership

  • Today, under the leadership of Bishop Reverend Emmanuel Mawewe (Chikamba III), the church continues its mission to proclaim the Gospel, uplift communities, and offer healing to the nations while building on a rich legacy of faith, struggle, and social transformation.

Mission Centre – Chiredzi

Expanding primary and secondary schools; building a rural community hospital; constructing a vocational training centre (agriculture, carpentry, construction, health sciences).

Completion of H.Q. Cathedral

Completing the 15,000-seat cathedral to host pilgrimages, healing services, and international conferences.

HQ Care Facilities

Developing administration offices, visitor quarters, and dormitories.
Outreach Ministries

Conducting evangelistic and revival campaigns across Zimbabwe and the region, currently funded by congregant donations.
